Teaching and service are frequently integrated into my research. II teach graduate and undergraduate level courses on design of educational technology, qualitative methods, and a graduate course on human centered computing. As a learning sciences researcher, my work in the classroom is just as exciting to me as my work in the field. I use active learning methods by incorporating in-class design activities, encouraging student-led discussions and engaging my classes in reflective learning practices at the end of their assignment, which helps them better situate what they have learned into a broader context.
